Moreton Bay Boat Club Races
Geoff and his yacht War Canoe (a Young88) had a successful and enjoyable day on the water on Sunday 25th Oct in races sponsored by Sunshine Boat Sales. Geoff is an avid sailor and happily participated in the Moreton Bay Boat Club’s Short Course Series while I looked after the Motel.
The first race was from Scarborough Heads to Garnet Rock and back to the Redcliffe Jetty. War Canoe was second across the line behind Kokomo. Race 2 was a “sausage windward/leeward (apparently that’s a thing???) where War Canoe got a brilliant flying start only to be pipped at the post once again by Kokomo. Race 3 ended with all boats returning home via Reef Point and this time War Canoe finished in front of Kokomo, securing 1st place overall based on performance handicap. And he bought home beer. Again.
